good day on Gibbons creek

fished there last Saturday during the wind storm, caught 19 crappie,1 blue cat and 1 green carp, most of the crappie were big females full of eggs, caught most on minnows in 14 ft. of water down 10 to 12 ft.

Yes, I live in Coldspring, so Lake Houston is only about 45 min. away and you can almost always catch a good mess of crappie there.

It's terrible how all three lakes are getting consumption bans.....

I only fish Livingston during the spring, the marina at Cape Royale, Whiterock Creek and Kickapoo are pretty good during this time after that I'm head to Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn for the rest of the summer, I'll fish Conroe, Gibbons Creek and Houston County a little during the summer also, the consumption ban on Livingston doesn't include crappie and white bass, most of the people I've talked to don't seem to care about the ban, I had one of my neighbors tell me the other day that he was 85 years old and it hadn't killed him yet so he was gonna keep eating it.

and yeppers i know lots of folks that eat fire out of everything they ketch at lake worth and say the same thing ...
thats a hoot ....heck back in the day i dint know and the "authorities" dint or dint want to say ....
but we used to hammer some crappie at mountain creek lake and eat em ....
and its a complete possession/consumption ban there now i think
