Lake Palestine 5-2
« on: May 03, 2015, 10:22:26 AM »
Went out with my boys for a short trip yesterday morning. We only hit one brush pile midlake but it was loaded with crappie.  No great big fish and lots were unders but that didnt matter.  Got a few on jigs when we first pulled up but then couldnt catch em despite still seeing them on the graph.   Dropped some minnows and it was game on.  Ten keepers and a dozen throw backs later the bite slowed and the boys were ready for a boat ride.

:Thumbsup That's a great outing. Boys sure look like they"re having fun.
My theory is "GO FOR IT". Never seen a hearst with a trailer hitch.

That was a perfect day for you and the boys.  Some fast action catching crappie, followed by a boat ride.

And at that age keepers don't matter, a fish is a fish.  Sorta like me.   :ROFLMAO

Thanks guys.  EZ you are definitely right.  For the boys, a fish is a fish.  Matters not whether it is a keeper or not.

I don't see you in the contest to win some of Pepop's jigs.   Some mighty fine looking jigs there and the price can't be beat.   :ROFLMAO

Thought about entering but figured I would let someone else get to enjoy them.  I already have a box of beautiful jigs from Vernon that work fantastic on Palestine.  Vernon has great customer service as well and if I ever get low he is only a fifteen minute drive up the lake from me.  He has them ready usually the next day or two.  If you haven't given them a try, you should!
