Ray Roberts report, 11 Aug, 2016
« on: August 13, 2016, 09:33:47 PM »
A buddy and me launched about 4:30 pm,  he picked out the first timber that we tied to.
We moved to different timber several times. Stayed on the water until  about midnight.
We caught a mixed bag:  couple of kitties (15 & 18 inches), several white bass (8 - 9.5 inches), whole bunches of crappie, 7 - 10 inches so none kept.  And one largemouth of 18 inches,on ultralight with 4 lb test;  that was some game dancing getting it into the boat and then thrown back.

Being on the water, even as hot as it was, was great.  Having something on the other end of the line is fantastic!

Sounds like fun but I've come to realize the crappie won't bite past my bedtime. :ROFLMAO

and they don't start biting until at least an hour after I get up.    :ROFLMAO

I dream of the days when I fished from dusk to dawn for crappie.   But I can't get my body and mind to go beyond dreaming anymore.   :BrickWall

Thanks guys, it means a lot from y'all.

Main reasons we stayed out so late is we both got a pass from house arrest, and it is mucho less hot under the stars.

Now if I could just get my little dachshund to point out where the whales are  🐳 , like ketchn's turtles  . . .

During the 80's all my summer time fishing was done between dusk and dawn.  But my wife was my fishing partner so it wasn't hard to get her approval for me to stay out all night fishing.   :ROFLMAO
