1 got Skunked, 1+2 got 30+ Slabs
« on: March 28, 2015, 01:34:11 PM »
As I said in another post, I went out for a couple hours yesterday and struck out. That was in the afternoon from 3-5'ish. Now, yesterday morning was a different story. My buddy Jason of Jason Burton Guide Service carried a couple guys out early and before 10am he had put them on 30+ good slabs. Jason said jigs & minnows were working and the fish were still fairly scattered though they did find a few pockets of several fish here & there.

ACAMS, I hope your wife's foot surgery does not sideline her like mine did.  I was told not to put any weight on the foot for four months after the surgery.  And that effectively grounded me.

I wasn't allowed to use crutches, only a knee scooter.  And since I could not put any weight on the foot I couldn't load the scooter into the car.  So I was under house arrest for the four months.

I fished my slip yesterday for two hours and caught three crappie, all male.  They were keepers but nothing to brag about.  But since this is the first time I have been able to fish this year I enjoyed the fishing and appreciated the catching.  LOL

I had a good day on Joe Pool yesterday.  Caught a bunch of dinks but also ended up with a limit of keepers.  No slabs but some nice sized crappie overall.

Of course I spend around 11 hours on the water doing it.  I did not catch a bunch anywhere, 1 or 2 here,  2 or 3 there.  So I covered a lot of water but I had a ton of fun doing it.

It seems as it is hit or miss.  To me that means the spawn is not on yet.

THANKS, but she stepped on a piece of glass and Palestine Regional Medical center is a JOKE to give them credit. (sat up there all night in ER for NOTHING!!!! .... never called us back and we got mad and left!)

She waited 3 days before I put a foot on her butt and made her go to a real doctor .... now 3 doctors later she will have a specialist konk her out and do surgery at Mother Frances in Tyler because it is in the bone.

Ouch!  But at least she has you to help her get around.  That will make it a little easier on her.

The foot surgery was fairly minor, even thro I had five broken bones in my foot, with two of them crushed.  I went home the same day of the surgery and the foot hurt less than a week after the surgery.  I stopped taking the pain pills for it five days after the surgery.

I just could not put any weight on it nor use crutches so I was stuck with a knee scooter for four months. My wife could not help me much with the knee scooter as she had back problems and also has Parkinson's.  So she could lift the scooter to put it in the car so we were stick at home.

Hopefully your wife will have even better results than I had.

Hope the surgery goes well for your wife.   Most people don't understand how limiting an injured foot can be.

My wife broke her foot three years ago so I know what both of you are experiencing.  But it does get better after surgery.

a hurt foot is a bummer .....and yes some of them medical facilities in some areas are ....well
let me tell yawl a story ...
my bud was in eastern Ark. and pinched off the tips of 2 fingers
riding on back of a 4 wheeler moving a climbing deer stand
went to the Er in el dorado and the doctor there "fixed' him up
sewed the left over finger nails perpendicular to his finger tips he did
left him with 2 "claw fingers" ......
when he got home to dfw he went to his regular doctor
his doctor said this ......What veterinarian over there did the work on you ?  :ROFLMAO
seriously his doctor said that ....
one thing for certain though .....
he was tree climbing fool after that episode  :LOL
p.s. hope your wifes foot gets better soon there bud
