Maximum depth: 65.6 feet
From Texas Park & Wildlife site: The largemouth bass population is moderately abundant with good numbers of legal-size fish available for harvest. Spotted bass are present but at low densities. White bass is a popular species with high numbers of quality size fish. Channel catfish in recent years have become more abundant across all size classes, and there are plenty of good-sized fish available for harvest. Good numbers of legal size crappie are present and provide good fishing opportunities. Redear sunfish, the dominant sunfish species in the lake, are moderately abundant and also showing good sizes.

Location: West Fork of San Jacinto River in Montgomery and Walker Counties

Surface area: 20,118 acres

Normal Clarity: Slight to moderate algal staining

Lake Conroe is dominated by open water in the lower two-thirds of the reservoir, with some standing timber still present along the river channel in the upper reaches. Most of the standing timber is slightly submerged when the lake is at conservation pool, making navigation hazardous in these areas. Bulkheads with boat docks dominate the shore in the lower reservoir; the upper reservoir (the portion lying within the Sam Houston National Forest) is primarily featureless shoreline. Substrates range from sandy to silty. A few aquatic plants dot shoreline areas, primarily in areas being planted by TPWD and the US Army Corps of Engineers as part of an ongoing Aquatic Habitat Enhancement Initiative.

Rated Excellent Fishing for Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Catfish and Hybrid Striped Bass.   Good for Crappie

On Pine Creek, a tributary of the Red River, 5 miles north of Paris in Lamar County

On the Sabine River in Hopkins, Rains and Wood Counties, 5 miles northwest of Quitman

On the Elm Fork of the Trinity River in Denton County near Lewisville

On the Trinity River in Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity and Walker counties. Dam is in Polk and San Jacinto counties, west of Livingston and 50 miles north of Houston. Surface area: 90,000 acres Maximum depth: 77 feet

Location: On Murvaul Bayou in Panola County, 15 miles west of Carthage Surface area: 3,397 acres Maximum depth: 36 feet Excellent largemouth bass fishery, Channel catfish are present in high numbers. Quality-size crappie are present with best fishing success in winter and spring. Sunfish (bluegill and redear) are present in good numbers.

This lake is located within Lake Mineral Wells State Park, which may be closed for wildlife management activities on occasion. Immediately east of Mineral Wells off US 180. Surface area: 440 acres Maximum depth: 30 feet

On the Neches River, 15 miles southwest of Tyler on Texas 155

In Collin, Dallas, Rockwall and Kaufman counties, one mile west of Rockwall on the East Fork of the Trinity River.

Surface area: 21,671 acres

Maximum depth: 40 feet

Conservation Pool Elevation: 435.5 ft. msl

Fluctuation: 1-3 feet

Normal Clarity: Stained

Hybrid striped bass, blue catfish, largemouth bass, white bass, channel catfish and white crappie.

Location: On Yegua Creek in Washington County, 30 miles from Bryan/College Station
Surface area: 11,456 acres
Maximum depth: 38 feet

This lake offers very little shoreline cover or structure. During high water periods, flooded terrestrial vegetation is the predominant cover available for fish.

Rated Excellent Fishing for Largemouth bass, White & hybrid striped bass, Channel, blue & flathead catfish.

On the Bosque River just off Texas Highway 6 within the Waco city limits. Surface area: 8,465 acres Maximum depth: 90 feet

In Rusk County, on Martin Creek 3 miles southwest of Tatum on Texas Highway 43. Surface area: 4,981 acres Maximum depth: 35 feet

n Meridian State Park, Bosque County

On the Brazos River in Palo Pinto and Young counties, 75 miles west of Fort Worth off Texas Highway 16 Surface area: 15,588 acres Maximum depth: 145 feet (avg. 37)

On the Sabanna and Leon rivers in Comanche County, off US 67 between the towns of Comanche and Proctor. Surface area: 4,537 acres Maximum depth: 34 feet

On the Elm Fork of the Trinity River, 10 miles north of Denton off FM 455. The dam is in Denton County but pushes water into Cooke and Grayson counties.

On the Angelina River; dam is located in Jasper County approximately 15 miles north of Jasper. Surface area: 114,500 acres Maximum depth: 80 feet

Five miles west of Belton off US 190. Surface area: 6,429 acres Maximum depth: 107 feet

On the Sabine River in Shelby, Sabine and Newton counties, straddling the Texas-Louisiana state line. The dam is in Newton County approximately 24 miles northeast of Jasper.

Surface area: 181,600 acres
Maximum depth: 110 feet

The Texas Department of State Health Services has issued consumption advisories for the following areas:

�Clear Fork of Trinity River from Benbrook Reservoir dam and West Fork from Lake Worth dam, including main stem of the Trinity downstream to US 287 bridge. Anglers are advised not to eat any fish caught in this area.

�Mountain Creek Lake in Dallas County. Anglers are advised not to eat any fish caught in this lake.

�Lake Worth in Tarrant County. Persons should not consume blue catfish, channel catfish or smallmouth buffalo from this lake.
