Title: Noonday fish
Post by: Bush Hog on July 15, 2015, 06:00:59 PM
Started fishing about 7 am and could not catch a crappie until straight up 12 o'clock.  I found some on the graph but could not get them fired up so I went to another place.  Ready to call it a day but wanted to try these fish one more time.  They were in 14 fow holding at 12ft.  I tossed the jig out, counted down to 11, give it a little wiggle, start reeling it in and THUMP!  Eight cast and eight fish... then they just quit.  Tried different jigs, different depths, they just had enough and so did I.

Great report!  I would have never caught those fish because I would have never thought to try that.  Love to read threads like this.

I've gotten in the habit of always counting down my jig as soon as it hits the water.  Then if I get a hit on the fall I have some idea where the fish are hanging out.  I laughed at myself the other day while bass fishing cause I caught myself counting down the plastic worm I was using.  Getting old can be funny sometimes.
