I doubt I will be very active in this topic this time around ..... maybe next month if the rules drop to one spam post a day.
Ya'll post your fish stories in the main forum so I wont miss anything!
ACAMS, I have told you this once before but I will tell you again.
This section performs three functions.
One, it gives something back to the members who help make this a successful board.
I try to select a prize that members would enjoy but might not want to buy for themselves. I pay for the prizes I offer in this contest to show my appreciation to active members. I appreciate the members who have offered to donate some of their jigs as a monthly prize for this contest as this allows me to have two winners each month.
And frankly, as nice as the jigs I have seen are the jigs themselves would make posting in this forum worthwhile just to have a chance to win them each month.
Two, it encourages members to check the board each day, and hopefully post in the other forums during their visit.
Three, it provides daily activity which encourages search engine spiders to visit the site each day and helps keep us on the first page of search engines for Texas crappie fishing. Being on the first page helps people find us and hopefully, join as a member. New members add different persectives and experiences to the forums and help many of us learn more about fishing for crappie.
I'm sorry you think a member contest is spam. I've had a lot of members PM me telling me they enjoy the contest. Most don't mind making two posts a day as it increases their chances of winning.
And finally it is each membe's choice of how many posts they make in the contest forum. Many members don't post in this forum but still enjoying reading the board.
It is your choice how often you post here or anywhere else on the board.
