Lake limestone
« on: July 08, 2015, 08:21:08 AM »
Does anybody here ever fish lake limestone? My grandpa took me there in back around 1982 and we caught slabs like crazy. I have never been back since. The wife and I drove out there not long ago to the marina just to look around but we didn't fish. Palestine is my home lake but I was thinking about a trip to limestone.

Do they have a fishing barge?  If yes, spend some time at the barge on one trip.  Talk to the locals fishing it to see how they do on a regular basis.  I have found that fishing out in the lake is usually better than the barge.  So if the barge is doing good the lake will probably be better.

Yes they have a really nice fishing dock and little cabins. I'll probably start with a map of the lake and see what I can do

If they don't get Joe Pool open soon I am going to need to start looking for some fishing barges with wheelchair access.  Definitely would need air conditioning this time of year if you are fishing inside a barge.
