I bought a Helix 7si last spring.  The technology less than a year later is amazing.  I like my little unit for everything except down scan.  I knew with this unit wouldn't have quite as good of an image as my older Lowrance units, but that was a sacrifice I was willing to make.  These new mega units don't look to have the same deficiencies from the looks of it.  Will be interested to see one of these in action.

The Mega's have dedicated DI crystals which greatly improve the DI scans over the older units which uses info gathered from the SI crystals....
I want one of these Mega units but not sure I'm gonna fork over the bills to get one....
I feel the set-up I have now puts me in feesh well although it doesn't put out scans as clear as the new unit....

Not to worry SK, next year they will come out with something that is even better than the mega.  Amazing how the technology advances so quickly.  Even here at work the new drives and programs that are even 3 years old are out of date and considered "obsolete", the new stuff is better, but the old stuff still gets the job done.
