Afternoon on Martin Creek 4/26
« on: April 26, 2015, 09:26:11 PM »
Went out for a few hours this afternoon. Only caught 5 crappie but they were good uns...  The bite was as light as I have ever seen.  Makes me wonder how many I missed and didn't know it.  Could not put a pattern together. Just picked up one here and there from 6 ft. deep to 15 ft deep on a chartreuse jig.  Sorry no pics again.  There was a  couple guys come in at the boat ramp that look like they had been rode hard and put up wet.  They said they had fished all day and only caught 1 fish so I gave them the crappie I had.  I have to be honest, I spent the first hour bass fishing, caught a 2.5 and a 3.8 and broke a rod.  Still a good afternoon though.

SK  lately I've been using a tandem rig with a blue/black jig on top and a chartreuse on bottom, both 1/16 oz.  These lake waters around here are so stained right now from all the rain this color combo seems to work well.

I think we're all learning or re-learning how to fish muddy water this year.  Thank goodness!
